OpenGL Compatibility is a troubleshooting tool test the graphics card and driver. The compatibility option bypasses the hardware acceleration and the graphics card and driver. This option is useful when troubleshooting software crashes, opening or saving errors, or graphical anomalies.
If the behavior is not reproducible in OpenGL Compatibility mode, ensure your graphics card meets the requirements, and perform a clean driver installation.
If the behavior is reproducible in OpenGL Compatibility mode, refer to our article on Troubleshooting DraftSight Crashing Issues.
Changing the OpenGL Profile Options
Enable OpenGL Compatibility mode by following these steps:
- Launch DraftSight
- In DraftSight, type “_OPENGLPROFILE" in the command line (without the quotes). Please note this is not in the command completion list.
- In the dialog box, select the option for OpenGL Compatibility
- Restart DraftSight for this to take effect.
This option is a system setting. When finished troubleshooting, repeat the steps and change the profile to OpenGL Core to disable this option.
