Problem
This guide is written for troubleshooting DraftSight crashing issues. If a user experiences DraftSight crashing, there are a few troubleshooting steps that need to be taken before the crash reports can be sent to Dassault Systèmes.
Solution 1: Check Graphics Card
Make sure all system requirements are met for DraftSight on the System Requirements website. If all system requirements are met, test the graphics card driver by following the steps in the article below:
How To Open DraftSight in OpenGL Compatibility Mode.
Solution 2: Clean Uninstallation and Reinstallation
Frequent crashing may be a problem with the installation. If the above measures did not resolve the issue, perform a clean uninstallation and reinstallation of the DraftSight Software.
- Log in to the Computer as the Administrator
- Turn off all Antivirus, Adware, and Spyware applications.
- Navigate to Windows Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
- Find the DraftSight application, select the three dots on the right, and choose "Uninstall". Follow the on-screen instructions.
- In Windows Explorer, navigate to the following DraftSight folders under:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\DraftSight
C:\ProgramData\Dassault Systemes\DraftSight - Rename the DraftSight folders in each location to DraftSight_old.
- Navigate to the folder C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes.
- Rename the Dassault Systemes folder to Dassault Systemes_old
- Open Windows Search, search for REGEDIT, and then select Enter to open the Registry Editor. When going into the Registry Editor, do not modify or delete anything except what is listed below. If you do not feel comfortable performing the steps listed below, please contact Technical Support.
