This article discusses the error message, " Could not obtain network license activation, contact your Network administrator", users receive when trying to launch DraftSight Enterprise.
This error can occur when there is a problem with the connection between the client and server machines, or when the Server License Manager is the wrong version. The client version of DraftSight must be the same or older version as the SolidNetwork License Manager.
To check the server version:
1. Go to Start > All Programs > SOLIDWORKS 20XX >SOLIDWORKS Tools
2. Click on SolidNetWork License Manager to launch it.
3. Select 'About':
Version 26 corresponds to a 2018 SolidNetWork License Manager
If the SolidNetWork License Manager on the server machine is not the same year or newer than the client installations the server license manager must be updated.
