DraftSight "Could not obtain network license activation..." Error

This article discusses the error message, " Could not obtain network license activation, contact your Network administrator", users receive when trying to launch DraftSight Enterprise. 

This error can occur when there is a problem with the connection between the client and server machines, or when the Server License Manager is the wrong version.

To check the server version:

1. Go to Start > All Programs > SOLIDWORKS 20XX >SOLIDWORKS Tools

2. Click on SolidNetWork License Manager to launch it.

3. Select 'About':

Version 26 corresponds to a 2018 SolidNetWork License Manager

The SolidNetWork License Manager on the server machine must be the same year or newer than the client installations. For information on how to update the server license Manager, please see our 2020 Server Installation guide.
