SOLIDWORKS crashes when loading Toolbox add-in

The following message can appear when SOLIDWORKS crashes from loading the Toolbox add-in:

If you click 'Yes,...' SOLIDWORKS will crash shortly after attempting to load the Toolbox.

If you click 'No,...' SOLIDWORKS will continue working but the Toolbox will not load.

Solution

This crash can be resolved by the following:

  • Delete the 'tb_default.sldedb' file from C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS 20XX\Toolbox\data

Now, relaunch SOLIDWORKS and the Toolbox add-in should load without issue.
