Small SOLIDWORKS Installation Window

With newer versions of SOLIDWORKS, some users with high-resolution Monitors have reported encountering a small Installation Manager Window, which makes it difficult to start an installation of SOLIDWORKS.

The small Window hides the "I accept the terms of the SOLIDWORKS License Agreement" checkbox, which causes the "Download Now" or "Modify Now" button to be greyed out. This also hides the button to view the SOLIDWORKS License Agreement. The SOLIDWORKS license agreement can be found on this SOLIDWORKS website: https://www.solidworks.com/support/3dsclosaela

Solution 1: Windows Text Size

  1. Close the Installation Window.
  2. In the Windows Search Bar, type "Settings" to bring up Windows Settings.

  3. Select the Setting section called "Accessibility" and change the "Text Size" setting at the top to 100% and hit "Apply".

  4. Open the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager again and attempt to install SOLIDWORKS.

Solution 2: Use the Tab and Spacebar Keys

  1. Click anywhere on the Installation Window to select it.
  2. Press the "Tab" key multiple times to select the license agreement box, which is not visible. Depending on the number of active installation options, it may take three to six "Tab" key presses to select the box.
  3. Hit the spacebar to accept the terms by checking that box.
  4. Press the "Download Now" or "Modify Now" button to start the Installation.
