In this article, we explain how to add new keyboard shortcuts for common commands used in CATIA.
Process
- In CATIA, go to Tools > Customize (Or right-click on any toolbar > Customize)

In the Customize Dialogue box, select the Commands Tab, then select the toolbar from the Categories to filter the Commands. Now select the Command you wish to add as a shortcut. Once the command is selected, select Show Properties. In this example, I am creating a shortcut for the View>Hide/Show tool.
- Once the Properties section is shown, select Other…
- From the Keys pop-up, scroll down the list and choose a key stroke for the keyboard shortcut. In this example, I am selecting the space key.
- Close the Dialogue boxes and now enjoy your shortcut. No,w when you select the item from the tree to Hide/Show, simply use the shortcut key(s) to perform the Hide/Show.
