SOLIDWORKS License Server Error: SW_D exited with status 53

Problem

This article goes over how to resolve the SolidNetwork License Manager Log Error:
SW_D exited with status 53 (Incorrect value for the environment variable LM_BINDING_AGENT)

This is caused by a missing Microsoft prerequisite component. The components that are missing, or in rare cases corrupted, are the 32-bit (displays as X86) and 64-bit Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 components.

Solution 1: Install Missing C++ Components

  1. Open the License Server Machine
  2. Download the missing C++ Components here:
    Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 from Official Microsoft Download Center
  3. Run the downloaded Exe files to install them on the Server
  4. Retest the issue
