Problem
This article goes over how to resolve the SolidNetwork License Manager Log Error:
SW_D exited with status 58
This article goes over how to resolve the two main causes of a port conflict or Data Execution Prevention (DEP) interfering.
Solution 1: Port Conflict
A port conflict is corrected by using the “A firewall in use on this server” setting in the SolidNetWork License Manager activation. Also, check for other programs using either port 25734 or 25735 and change those programs to use other ports.
Solution 2: DEP Interference
If there is interference from DEP, add lmgrd.exe and sw_d.exe as exceptions to DEP.
-
Go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > System
-
Click Advanced System Settings
-
Click Settings... under the Performance section
- Choose the Data Execution Prevention tab
-
Put the radial dot into Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select:
-
Use Add to then search for and add the exceptions. By default, lmgrd.exe and sw_d.exe will be located in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\SOLIDWORKS Corp\SolidNetWork License Manager
Note: You will need to add ALL programs you do not want to have DEP running on. Be aware that some programs will not allow you to refuse to run DEP on them.
