Visualize Queue Error: "Unable to connect to local queue. Make sure the service is running and try again"

Problem

This article discusses the Visualize error when sending a project to the local Visualize queue. The error can occur if Visualize is attempting to restore a previous session, which may have been corrupted by a crash. 

Solution

To clear any previous sessions and restart the Queue, follow these steps:

  1. Stop the Queue service.
  2. Go to 'Control Panel' > 'Administrative Tools' > 'View local services'.
  3. Right-click on the ‘SWVisualize[version].QueueServer’ service > ‘Stop’.

Windows Service app

  1. Delete the following files:

• %PROGRAMDATA%\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS Visualize [version]\Queue\admin\processorscheduler.state

• %PROGRAMDATA%\SOLIDWORKS\SOLIDWORKS Visualize

[version]\Queue\admin\queue.state

  1. Restart the Queue service.
  2. Go to 'Control Panel' > 'Administrative Tools' > 'View local services'
  3. Right-click on the ‘SWVisualize[version].QueueServer’ service > ‘Start’.
