This article describes how to resolve the error "Could Not Get Information From the Server" when you have recently upgraded SOLIDWORKS or migrated to a different server and are trying to activate the SolidNetwork License Manager(SNL).
This article specifically addresses the error found in the lmgrd.log log file:
"SW_D exited with status 32 (Exited because another server was running)"
Check The Log File
- To check the SolidNetwork License Manager logs, open the SolidNetwork License Manager Server (SNL)> Click on the Server Administration tab> click 'View Log'. If you do not have the Server Administration tab, you are using the client version of the SNL Manager or are on the wrong computer.
- Scroll towards the bottom of the log until you see the lmgrd error message:
SW_D exited with status 32 (Exited because another server was running)
If the error code is different, please contact Hawk Ridge Technical Support or review our other error code guides here. If the error code matches, use the process below to resolve the issue.
Solution
- Open your Windows Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+Delete keys), and select the 'Details' tab. Scroll down the application list until you see lmgrd.exe (license manager) process running. Select all instances of this process and click 'End Task'.
- After you have stopped the lmgrd.exe processes, launch the SNL Manager and proceed to activate again.
