Problem

This article goes over how to resolve the SOLIDWORKS Network License Client Error:
"This Version of SOLIDWORKS is Newer than your License Version".

This error occurs when a client machine is upgraded before the SolidNetwork License Manager (SNL) server. The SNL can only provide licenses to client machines running the same or older SOLIDWORKS version. For example, a 2026 SNL supports SOLIDWORKS 2026 or earlier. If the client runs a newer version than the SNL, it cannot obtain a license and will show this error.

Solution

Upgrade the License Server to match the Version Year in use by the Client Machines, or uninstall SOLIDWORKS from the Client Machines and then reinstall the version to match the SNL.
