Saving Plot Animation as AVI – Hawk Ridge Systems

Problem

This article discusses saving a Simulation plot as an animation. Users may encounter difficulty saving an AVI file of the plot animation as the steps are not very intuitive.

Solution

In order to export the AVI file, please follow the steps below:

1. Launch the Animation property manager by right-clicking on the plot and selecting "Animate". The Animation property manager will appear, and the animation of the model will play automatically.

Right-click the plot and select "Animate"

2. Stop the animation. This step is often overlooked, and if this isn't done, the AVI file will not be exported.

Press the square button to stop the animation

3. Check the box for "Save as AVI file" and select the save location of the AVI file by clicking on the "..." button.

Check the box for "Save as AVI file" and select the save location of the AVI file by clicking on the "..." button.

4. Play the animation, and the AVI file will generate.

Press the play button to play the animation and export it
