When you are attempting to access the SOLIDWORKS CAM NC Editor located at ‘C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp\SOLIDWORKS CAM\NCEditor’, you will trigger the error “Invalid or missing key argument given” and are unable to open the application.
This error is shown because you cannot run the software from Windows Explorer. The SOLIDWORKS CAM NC Editor is designed to only be run from within the SOLIDWORKS software instead.
On the other hand, CAMWorks 2018 is installed with a standalone application, ‘CAMWorks NC Editor’ which can be run outside of the main software.
