This document has detailed instructions on how to install CW ShopFloor (non-version specific).
Before installing this software, you should login with full administrative permissions.
This is not a troubleshooting guide. If you have any technical issues with SOLIDWORKS, please contact Hawk Ridge Systems technical support.

System Requirements
Hawk Ridge Systems highly recommends taking a moment before installing CAMWorks ShopFloor and checking that you are ready to load your new software. First, check these links to ensure minimum system requirements and video card compatibility are met. Also, confirm that the hard drive has enough space to have at least 15% free space after the full installation. As always, verify with coworkers, customers, or vendors that all are on the same version of CAMWorks ShopFloor.
Installation Procedure
- Right click on the downloaded .zip file, select Properties, then check Unblock and Apply. Extract the downloaded file using Right Click > Extract Files.
- From the unzipped folder, run the CAMWorksShopFloorSetup20XX.exe. Follow the instructions given in the Installation Wizard to complete the installation. Apply the default settings from the installation process. Ensure that the executable (.exe) is run with administrator rights.
- Initial installation screen – select Next to continue.
- Review the User Agreement and select ‘Yes’ and then select Next to accept and continue with the installation process.
- The installation process will set the default location for the Program and Data folders. It is recommended to maintain these default locations. If this is an update installation where you already have installed the same year version, then this dialogue will not be presented as the folders will have already been created. Select Next to continue.
- The Ready To Install dialogue is a limited representation of the options selected from the previous dialogues and is a summary of what will be applied during the installation process. Select Install to continue (this will start the installation process). During the installation process, there will be multiple pop-up messages indicating what component is getting installed at that time.
- Upon completion of the installation process, there will be a dialogue to indicate the end of the process. Select "Finish" to exit the installer.
- Before starting the application, ensure that the license configuration has been completed successfully through the CAMWorks License manager. Refer to our other articles on CAMWorks licensing for information on how to license the application.
Starting CAMWorks ShopFloor
The ShopFloor application by default will have a desktop icon and will also be accessible from the windows start menu. Either of them can be used to start the application.
