Problem

Even if a user does not use any 3DEXPERIENCE add-ins for SOLIDWORKS and does not want to log in when using SOLIDWORKS, they may still be prompted to log in to 3DEXPERIENCE with the window below when launching SOLIDWORKS. This can still happen even if the 3DEXPERIENCE add-ins are disabled or uninstalled.

Logging in with that prompt, even using the "Remember Me" option, will only leave the user logged in for up to 7 days before prompting again. This article goes over how to disable the Login Prompt by modifying the registry.

When going into the Registry Editor, do not modify or delete anything except what is listed below. If you do not feel comfortable performing the steps listed below, please contact Technical Support.

Solution

Since we are going to be making a change in the registry, we recommend creating a backup of the registry first, so it can be restored if needed. Then we will modify the registry after creating the backup. 

1. Close all applications, including SOLIDWORKS.

2. Search for "regedit" in the Windows Start menu, then hit "Enter"

   

3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/SolidWorks, 

4. Right-click on the SOLIDWORKS folder and select "Export"

   

    

5. Name it "user.reg" and store it anywhere as desired
6. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Dassault Systemes
7. Right-click on the Dassault Systemes folder and select "Export"
8. Name it "DassaultSystemes.reg" and store it with the "user.reg" file from Step 5
9. Now that the registry is backed up, we can proceed to make changes to the registry to disable the login prompt
10. Again, close all applications, including SOLIDWORKS
11. Download the *Disable_SWPassportLoginDialog.reg.txt" file attached at the bottom of this article

12. In Windows File Explorer, go to the View Tab (View > Show > File name extensions dropdown in Windows 11) and make sure that the "File name extensions" checkbox is selected

    

13. Right-click on the "Disable_SWPassportLoginDialog.reg.txt" file and select "Rename"
14. Remove the *.txt extension from the file name and click to change the file type to a *.reg file
15. Double-click on the file to apply the changes
16. Launch SOLIDWORKS to confirm that the login window has been disabled. 

That registry file will create a ‘SW_Login_Disable’ registry key with the value set to ‘True’ at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Dassault Systemes\SOLIDWORKSPDM\Servers\3DEXPERIENCE when run. That registry key value prevents the login window from opening.
