This article documents a recent announcement from the SOLIDWORKS development team regarding a widespread stability issue in SOLIDWORKS 2024 SP1.
SOLIDWORKS has released a hotfix for the following issue documented in BR10000372177: SolidWorks hangs regenerating graphics when deleting a feature triggering full rebuild. See below for the full text of the announcement, as well as instructions for applying the hotfix:
A general hotfix - for SOLIDWORKS® 2024 SP1 is available that addresses the following issue:
BR10000372177: SolidWorks hangs regenerating graphics when deleting a feature triggering full rebuild.
The attachment HotFix_HF-1240281_2024sp01.exe addresses this issue.
Apply the Hotfix
To apply the hotfix:
1. Download the HotFix_HF-1240281_2024sp01.exe file attached to this QA and save it to a local disk.
2. Close active SOLIDWORKS sessions and ensure that sldworks.exe is not running in the Windows® Task Manager. Right-click the process and end the process if it is active.
3. Run HotFix_HF-1240281_2024sp01.exe by double-clicking.
4. Choose “unzip” to unzip the contents and launch the installer. Follow the prompts to complete the installation of SOLIDWORKS HotFix_HF-1240281_2024sp01.
