Removing Toolbox Flag

The Toolbox can be a useful add-in for when working in a multi-user environment.  One benefit is that SolidWorks will see that a component has a Toolbox flag so it inserts the corresponding file from the Toolbox.  This option is enabled by the checkbox "Make this folder the default search location for Toolbox components" located in Tools->Options->Hole Wizard/Toolbox SolidWorks will automatically replace the Toolbox component with the file located in the Toolbox.  This is particularly useful in reducing file size for people using the same Toolbox.

However, if people are using a different Toolbox with this option enabled, SolidWorks could potentially replace the Toolbox component with an incorrect part because of the Toolbox flag.

To remove the Toolbox flag, please follow the steps below:

1. Identify the component that has a Toolbox flag as indicated by the Toolbox icon in the FeatureManager

2. Browse to C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp\SOLIDWORKS\Toolbox\data utilities and run sldsetdocprop.exe

3. Add the files you want to toggle the properties for.  Property state of "yes" means enabling the Toolbox flag and "no" means removing the flag.

4. Click on "Update Status"

When the Toolbox flag is removed, the icon in the FeatureManager looks like a regular part file.
