Problem
This article goes over using Verification on Rebuild, which is another diagnostic tool.
Solution
When disabled, when a new feature is created, SOLIDWORKS checks that the new feature does not intersect or overlap with any adjacent faces in the Solid model. When enabled, SOLIDWORKS will check that new or changed features do not intersect or overlap with any model faces or edges. Depending on the size of the file, this setting will lower the overall performance when rebuilding, so it is advised to keep it off until doing any final model checks. Verification on Rebuild only rebuilds features. Drawing views or assembly mates are not affected by this setting.
The Verification on Rebuild option can be turned on within SOLIDWORKS via Tools > Options > System Options > Performance > Verification on Rebuild (enable advanced body checking).
SOLIDWORKS possesses several additional tools capable of running checks to determine if the geometry created is stable, functional, or will not create any additional complications, which include:
- Force Rebuild: Check for Feature Errors in SOLIDWORKS with Force Rebuild – Hawk Ridge Systems
- Check Entity: Using Check Entity to check for Geometry Issues – Hawk Ridge Systems
- Geometry Analysis: Using Geometry Analysis to check for Issues before Exporting to other Tools – Hawk Ridge Systems
