Problem
When working with SOLIDWORKS PDM, it is often necessary to identify the exact version and license type installed for troubleshooting, compatibility checks, or upgrade planning. This article will help you locate the PDM version and license type installed in your environment.
Solution: Locate PDM Version and License Information
- Open the SOLIDWORKS PDM Administration application.
- Click on the question mark icon, as illustrated below.
-
The Build Number field displays the version in the format TT.S, where:
a. TT represents the major release number since 1992. For example, 33 indicates the 2025 version, 34 indicates the 2026 version, and so on.
b. S represents the service pack. For example, 3 indicates SP3 - From the same screen, you can determine the installed client type and use the drop-down list to select a different client license type, as illustrated below.
NOTE: Beginning with PDM 2019 SP0, the Client Version and Build Number follow the same numbering scheme as SOLIDWORKS.

Not sure what else to tell you. When we first discovered this issue 2 people could bring up the model and 3 people could not. I don't believe it's a corrupt assy but I could be wrong. Certainly it's not repeatable.
openeing the assy hangs like this. It'll stay like this for days... clicking mouse has no affect on spinning wheel.
