When selecting a file in the PDM vault a user may get a warning that the current task add-in is unsupported. This may occur after upgrading the PDM Server and client. The task add-in may also be enabled on the user's machine. Within the PDM Administration tool; the task add-ins are already upgraded to match the current PDM server version.
Verifying the current task add-in version
The task add-in used by the PDM client machine may be corrupted or the wrong version. Confirming the task add-in version on the PDM client can be done through the Task Host Configuration manager. After the Task Host Configuration manager loads it will show if a task add-in is enabled for the selected vault.
1. Navigate to the Windows task tray and right-click the blue/white icon for PDM. Select 'Task Host' from the menu option.
2. Select the PDM vault from the drop-down in the upper right-hand corner of the Task Host Configuration menu. The format of the version number of the task add-in is as follows:
YYYY - Year Version (20XX)
SS - Service Pack (SP-XX)
BBBB - Build Number
3. After verifying the task add-in version go to the next section of this document. If the task add-in is not current proceed to step 4 about upgrading the task add-ins.

Renaming the PDM Plugins Cache Folder
The PDM client stores plugins in a cache folder located in the hidden AppData folder directory in Windows. This cache folder can become corrupt and cause warnings regarding the add-in and impact functionality. The AppData folder can be made visible by selecting the 'Hidden Items' check box on the View tab in Windows File Explorer.
1. Navigate to the c:\users\<username>\AppData\Local\SolidWorks\SOLIDWORKS PDM directory.
2. Select the plugins folder and rename it to Plugins_old.
3. Log off from the PDM vault and then log back in.
4. Verify if any more warnings occur regarding the task add-in when navigating the PDM vault.
