Could Not Find The Standards Database Error in SOLIDWORKS

Problem

This article goes over how to resolve the error:
"Error: Could not find the Standards database 'C:\SolidWorks Data\lang\english\swbrowser.sldedb'"

Example Error

This error will usually appear when SOLIDWORKS is upgraded from an older version. SOLIDWORKS is simply looking in an older version of the Hole Wizard/Toolbox data folder and is not finding the expected version.

Solution

  1. Open SOLIDWORKS
  2. Go tools > Options > Hole Wizard/Toolbox
Go tools > Options > Hole Wizard/Toolbox
  1. Click on the '…' button to browse to the correct SOLIDWORKS Data Folder path. Note: The default file path is: C:\SOLIDWORKS Data 2026. If the warning appears again after choosing a folder, try a different SOLIDWORKS Data Folder
  2. Click"OK" to accept the change and close the window
  3. Relaunch SOLIDWORKS to see if the error persists
