Could Not Find The Standards Database Error in SOLIDWORKS

What do you do when you receive an error message that reads, "Error: Could not find the Standards database 'C:\SolidWorks Data\lang\english\swbrowser.sldedb'"?

This error will usually appear if you have recently updated SOLIDWORKS from an older version. SOLIDWORKS is simply looking to an older version of the Hole Wizard/Toolbox data folder and is not finding the expected version.

To fix this, go to Tools > Options, then under the System Options tab, select Hole Wizard/Toolbox from the list on the left.

Click on the '…' button to browse to the correct path.

First browse to your C: drive where you will find the "SolidWorks Data" folders. There may be multiple folders, called “SolidWorks Data (2)”, “SolidWorks Data (3)” and so on.

Regardless of what the folders are called, you need only pick the correct folder and click OK. If you guess wrong, you will see the error message again and you can simply try again until the correct data folder is selected.
