How to Remove a Section or Detail View Without Deleting the Defining Sketch

Problem

This article goes over how to remove a Section or Detail View from a drawing but keep the sketch that defines it.

Solution

  1. Select a View for deletion and press "Delete" on the keyboard
  2. In the "Confirm Delete" dialog window, uncheck the option for “Delete section sketch” or "Delete detail sketch"

This will delete the view, but leave the cutting line or detail circle intact, including the view label and line properties. It will still be defined as a cutting line/detail circle, and can be edited as such.

If you wish to remove the line properties and labels so that the sketch is just a regular sketch line, left-click on the cutting line or detail circle, press the "Delete" key, and again uncheck the option for “Delete section sketch” or "Delete detail sketch".
