How to Show/Hide Task Pane Toolbar in SOLIDWORKS

Problem

This article covers steps to show or hide the SOLIDWORKS Task Pane Toolbar. With default SOLIDWORKS settings, the Task Pane is displayed on the right side of the SOLIDWORKS user interface, which shows and provides quicker access to certain Features and Add-ins through enabled tabs. These tabs may include SOLIDWORKS Resources, Design Library, File Explorer, View Palette, Appearances, Custom Properties, PDM, and other enabled Add-ins. A reference image of the Task Pane Toolbar is shown below.

Solution 1: Turn the Task Pane Toolbar On or Off

  1. Open SOLIDWORKS and open a file
  2. Click View > Toolbars > Task Pane, or right-click in a blank area of the command manager or at the top of the SOLIDWORKS Window and select "Toolbars" to turn on/off the Task Pane
  3. If this does not work, then go to Solution 2

Solution 2: Reset the SolidWorks User Interface

  1. Go to Tools > Customize > Reset to Defaults, or Right-click in a blank space of the command manager or at the top of the SOLIDWORKS window and select Customize > ToolbarsReset to Defaults

  1. Click "Yes" to confirm the change

  1. Restart SOLIDWORKS

 

Solution 3: Reset the SolidWorks Registry
