This article explains how to install eDrawings Professional, either as a standalone license or by connecting to a SOLIDWORKS Professional or Premium license via a SolidNetwork License Manager Server (SNL). Standalone licenses require a version-specific authorization code for activation, not a typical Serial Number. If you do not have the authorization code needed to activate eDrawings Professional Standalone, contact Technical Support.
Installing through the Free Downloads Page
You can find the eDrawings download here: Free Downloads | SOLIDWORKS. This page does not require any login or subscription, but the downloads are limited. There is typically only the newest year version/service pack available.

-
Click on the blue downward error on the leftmost column and accept the agreement to start the download for eDrawings
- Launch the exe that has been downloaded to start the eDrawings installation and click "Next"
- For eDrawings Professional Standalone users: Enter the authorization code
-
For SOLIDWORKS Professional or Premium Network license users: Fill out the SNL Server info here, which is typically 25734@<Servername>
- Click "Next" to confirm and start the installation with the Install button
- Once the installation is finished, launch eDrawings
Installing through the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager
The main differences between this method and the previous one are that it does not require a registration form to be filled out, and you can have older year versions of eDrawings when you download the corresponding Installation Manager.
