Changing The Fixed Face Of Sheet Metal Part

Problem

This article goes over how to change the Fixed Face of a Sheet Metal Part. The fixed face of a sheet metal part is the face about which SolidWorks unfolds sheet metal parts. It is set by the first sheet metal feature by default.

Solution

  1. Expand the Flat Pattern Folder and edit the Flat Pattern feature

  1. In the Property Manager window that comes up, change the selection for the Fixed Face selection box at the top

Change the face selected in the property manager
