Exporting DXF/DWG With 1:1 Scale

Problem

This article goes over how to adjust SOLIDWORKS settings to export a DXF/DWG file from a SOLIDWORKS drawing with 1:1 Scaling.

Solution

  1. With a SOLIDWORKS drawing file open, go to Options > System Options > Export
  2. Select DXF/DWG for the File Format dropdown
  3. Under the "Scale output 1:1" section, check the box to enable it and make sure the "Base scale" is correct as well

Enable 1 to 1 scaling and set base scale

Notes: The paper or sheet scale is not normally used when this option is enabled. The sheet scale is the scale of the drawing sheet, whereas the view scale is the scale of one of the drawing views.  The count is how many drawing views are using that particular scale. The group of Views with the largest number of views is exported with a 1:1 scale, and the remaining views are scaled correspondingly. If the drawing contains no views, the sheet is exported with a 1:1 scale.
