How to Reset the Thumbnail Cache

Problem

If the thumbnail pictures are not displaying correctly, resetting the thumbnail cache may help fix them. Resetting the cache will clear it and force the automatic creation of the thumbnails as needed. 

Solution

Follow the steps below to clear the Thumbnail Cache:

  1. In the Windows Search Bar, type "Disk Cleanup" to bring up Disk Cleanup and hit "Enter" to open it 

  2. Select the Boot Drive and click "OK"

    Select the drive and click OK

  3. Check the Thumbnails checkbox and make sure nothing else is checked

    Check the Thumbnails box and uncheck all other boxes
  4. Click "OK"

  5. When prompted, click the "Delete Files" button

    Click Delete Files
  6. Check to see if the Thumbnails display correctly
