Problem
This article goes over what causes RealView to be disabled, and how to reenable it. RealView makes the display of models more realistic and dynamic without needing to render the model in SOLIDWORKS Visualize or other software.
Solution
RealView is available on machines running a workstation-class Graphics Card with a Certified graphics Driver. The list of Certified Graphics Cards and Drivers can be reviewed on the Hardware Certification Website: Hardware Certification | SOLIDWORKS
ReviewView can be turned on from View Settings > RealView Graphics
or View > Display > RealView Graphics.
If the option to turn on RealView is disabled, there are several possible issues including the following:
- RealView is not available when using Large Assembly Settings in an Assembly.
- The Graphics Card in use is not Certified for SOLIDWORKS. RealView is available on machines running a workstation-class Graphics Card with a Certified graphics Driver. Make sure the Graphics Card is Certified and running a Certified Driver. The list of Certified Graphics Cards and Drivers can be reviewed on the Hardware Certification Website: Hardware Certification | SOLIDWORKS
- With all files closed, go to Options > System Options > Performance to make sure the option 'Use Software OpenGL' is unchecked
- If the first three items did not resolve this, perform a clean installation of the Graphics Driver: How to Perform a Clean Install of NVIDIA Display Driver – Hawk Ridge Systems
