Problem

When installing SOLIDWORKS Inspection, some users encounter the installation error "We did not find a valid version of Microsoft Excel on the system. Install Microsoft Excel in order to continue".

This error message occurs when installing SOLIDWORKS Inspection on a system that has Microsoft Office 365 or Office Click-to-Run products, which are not tested or supported for use with SOLIDWORKS Products.

Solution

Install a supported version of Microsoft Excel and then try installing SOLIDWORKS Inspection again. For information on supported versions, review the SOLIDWORKS System Requirements: System Requirements | SOLIDWORKS
