Catia, Creating Keyboard Shortcuts

In this article we explain how to add new keyboard shortcuts for common commands used in Catia.

Process

  1. In Catia go to Tools > Customize (Or right click on any toolbar > Customize)

  2. In the Customize Dialogue box select the Commands Tab, then select the toolbar from the Categories to filter the Commands. Now select the Command you wish to add as a shortcut. Once the command is selected, select Show Properties. In this example I am creating a shortcut for the View>Hide/Show tool.

  3. Once the Properties section is shown, select Other…

  4. From the Keys popup scroll down the list and choose a key stroke for the keyboard shortcut. In this example I am selecting the space key.

  5. Close the Dialogue boxes and now enjoy your shortcut. Now when you select the item from the tree to Hide/Show, simply use the shortcut key(s) to perform the Hide/Show.
