Abaqus Firewall Exceptions

This article describes how to make firewall exceptions using Windows Firewall for Abaqus. These instructions are for the Server Machine that has the FLEXNet Licensing Utilities (also known as "LMTOOLS") installed.

  1. Click the start menu and start typing in 'firewall' to open up Windows Defender Firewall.

  1. Click 'Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall'

  1. Click "Allow another app..."

  1. Click "Browse..."

  1. Navigate to the following folder: C:\SIMULIA\License\20XX\win_b64\code\bin, select ABAQUSLM.exe, and click "Open".

  1. Click "Add"

  1. Repeat steps 3-6 for lmgrd.exe located in the same folder: C:\SIMULIA\License\20XX\win_b64\code\bin

  2. Choose which situation you want this exception for (Private, Public). This decision will be based on how you access Abaqus on your license server. Consult with your IT on the proper permissions for your Network.
