Abaqus Firewall Exceptions

Problem

This article describes how to make firewall exceptions using Windows Firewall for Abaqus. These instructions are for the Server Machine that has the FLEXNet Licensing Utilities (also known as "LMTOOLS") installed.

Solution

  1. In the Windows Start menu, type 'firewall'and select Windows Defender Firewall

  1. Click 'Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall'

  1. Click "Allow another app..."

  1. Click "Browse..."

  1. Navigate to the following folder: C:\SIMULIA\License\20XX\win_b64\code\bin, select ABAQUSLM.exe, and click "Open"
Select Abaquslm_exe and click Open
  1. Click "Add"
Click Add
  1. Repeat steps 3-6 for lmgrd.exe located in the same folder: C:\SIMULIA\License\20XX\win_b64\code\bin
  2. Choose which situation is desired for this exception (Private, Public). This decision will be based on how you access Abaqus on your license server. Consult with your IT on the proper permissions for your Network.
