Online Licensing Error "SOLIDWORKS is not enabled for your SOLIDWORKS ID..."

This article discusses the error message "SOLIDWORKS is not enabled for your SOLIDWORKS ID. Consult your CAD Administrator" that occurs when trying to login with with Online Licensing.

Scenario 1:

When a user tries to login to SOLIDWORKS with an incorrect SOLIDWORKS ID, they will receive the error message "SOLIDWORKS is not enabled for your SOLIDWORKS ID. Consult your CAD Administrator". If the user hits OK and relaunches SOLIDWORKS the same error message will appear.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Open Windows Explorer and browse to the folder C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Local\SolidWorks\Credentials
  2. Delete the 'ud.xml' file found in this folder:
  3. Start the SOLIDWORKS application. The SOLIDWORKS Login dialog box will reappear allowing the user to enter a valid SOLIDWORKS ID.

Scenario 2:

If the user logs in with a valid SOLIDWORKS ID and still receives this error, this is due to the SOLIDWORKS Admin Portal and SOLIDWORKS Activation Manager not being in sync. The license may have additional assets on the SOLIDWORKS Activation server. You will need to contact your VAR to create a service request with SOLIDWORKS.
