Where is the SolidNetWork License Manager for SOLIDWORKS Electrical?

When SOLIDWORKS Electrical is installed with a network license and without any other SOLIDWORKS products, the client version of the SolidNetWork License (SNL) Manager can be difficult to find. This article provides the location of the SNL Manager for this scenario.

For license administration tasks such as checking license usage, borrowing licenses for use off the network, modifying the license server names, and troubleshooting network licensing issues, the user needs to run the version of the SolidNetWork License Manager that gets installed on a client machine. When installing SOLIDWORKS products, a shortcut to this program typically is added to the Start menu under Programs > SOLIDWORKS 20xx > SOLIDWORKS Tools. However, this shortcut will not be present if SOLIDWORKS Electrical is installed without any other SOLIDWORKS products.

The default installation location in this scenario is:

C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp\SOLIDWORKS Electrical\bin\setup\i386

Run swlmwiz.exe to bring up the SNL Manager. You can also create a shortcut on the desktop for future use by right-clicking the icon, then selecting Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).
