SOLIDWORKS Electrical freezes after clicking button in dialog

Sam Frew

Users may occasionally find that SOLIDWORKS Electrical will appear to freeze after clicking on a particular button on a toolbar or dialog window. This is typically caused by the dialog opened by that button appearing off-screen, often after disconnecting an external monitor. Resetting the user interface can resolve this.

When SWE appears to freeze, press the Esc key. If this un-freezes SWE, it indicates that there was an off-screen dialog that was closed when pressing Esc.

To reset the user interface, navigate to Tools > Interface Configuration. Click Reset all interfaces. Re-test the issue to see if the dialog now appears correctly.
