Downloading Additional Weldment Profiles from SOLIDWORKS Content

The weldment profiles library included in the SOLIDWORKS installation is limited to a few cross sections in the ANSI Inch and ISO standards. Additional weldment profiles can be downloaded using this guide.

 

  1. Start SOLIDWORKS
  2. Click on the Design Library tab in the Task Pane
  1. Expand SOLIDWORKS content and go to Weldments

  1. While holding the CTRL key, select the weldment profile sets you would like to download, which are in ZIP format.
  1. Extract the ZIP file and place its contents in the Weldment Profiles folder specified in Tools > Options > System Options > File Locations. By default, it's located in C:\Program Files\SolidWorks Corp\SOLIDWORKS\lang\english\weldment profiles 

 

The Structural Member Property Manager drop down list is now populated with the added Weldment Profiles.

    Are there any other libraries that can be downloaded? I'm looking for ASTM Standards For Steel Tubes and Pipes.
