Changing View Orientation (Part)

Barry Shiong

If your model's views aren't what you want them to be, i.e. the front view is actually the top view and the isometric view is at the wrong angle, you don't have to switch sketching planes which could be complicated. For example, if the front view of your part is actually supposed to be the top view, simply press the space bar to get the view orientation box clicking on the Pin icon on the top right to make it stay visible.

Double click on Front view. Now single click on the Top view and click the center button in the view orientation box. This is called "Update Standard Views". Accept the warning and click OK. Your part now has a new orientation. To default back to standard views, you can click the "Reset Standard Views" button on the top right.
