Question: Why does the Mass Properties Dialog box does not show up when selected from the pull down?
Answer: This can be due to the uiModelMassPropDlg_c registry key being set to the wrong numerical digits. But how would you know that? If you experience this problem, close SolidWorks, and check the string of digits that are currently associated to uiModelMassPropDlg_c from the registry.
You will need Admin permissions and be extremely careful not to change any other data in the registry file(s).
Click START, RUN, type regedit and this will bring you into the registry editor. Now browse to this folder: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareSolidWorksSolidWorks 20XXUser InterfaceDialogs and search for uiModelMassPropDlg_c.
Take note of the numerical value associated with the registry file and compare those numbers and those at the end of this article. If these numbers are incorrect, continue with the instructions on how to change them listed below.
Double clicking the registry file will open up the dialog box to update the values. Make sure that each number is followed by a comma without spaces (except for the last digit). Click OK when done. Open SolidWorks and the Mass Properties Dialog should now be operational.
