HotFix: SOLIDWORKS 2015 SP5 and 2016 SP5 Screen Flickering and Viewport Issues

This article addresses a problem and fix for customers using SOLIDWORKS 2015 SP5 and 2016 SP5 that encounter screen flickering or viewport switching issues.

For Windows 7 and Windows 10 users, this problem can occur after Windows Update KB3205394 and KB3206632 are installed on the system. 

Software Performance Report and Solution

  • SPR 999124: User Interface - View Orientation Display - Parts:Screen flickers, after installing Windows Update KB3205394 in Windows 7 and KB3206632 in Windows 10.
    • Resolved In: SOLIDWORKS 2017 SP2
